My name is Evon Roquemore, and I am the CEO of Bright, and I am a native of our state capital, Baton Rouge.
As an entrepreneur, I feel like there's so many more opportunities for small businesses. I think there are lots of programs that participate and target small businesses that need the education, need the expertise, and need the opportunity to be able to bring their service or their product to market, and when I started my journey, I was really intentional about educating myself. I participated in every small business program that Baton Rouge has to offer. I joined every board that was a part of my industry because I was intentional about educating myself, immersing myself in the community, and making sure that Bright was a part of the community.
Our tagline at Brightside is mental wellness and action, and I feel like that is what I'm trying to embark upon and be. That's what I'm trying to be and live. Mental wellness in action. I think that Baton Rouge has so much to offer small businesses and, people who have an interest in, changing their community.
Because of the many opportunities in Baton Rouge, from innovative business models to the metropolitan area's growth, this is a perfect landing spot for entrepreneurs.
